I always thought roasting 'taters was sooo piece of cake. Truth is, sometimes they were good and sometimes, not so much. This requires more than time but less stressing over sticking and burning. The outside of the potatoes were nicely browned and the insides were smoothen and soft. Don't rush this but go along an eye on them the final 15 minutes, mine were cut a scrap smaller and were done beforehand. I just used my iron fry pan in the oven and it worked very well. Splendid recipe. I used 1 pound of potatoes seasoned with table salt, freshly ground black pepper, thyme and red pepper flakes. After the first 30 minutes I added ane whole cut up large cherry-red bell pepper and 4 sliced garlic cloves. My DH and I thoroughly enjoyed these potatoes.

I made this recipe concluding night every bit a side to the Chicken Cordon Bleu Ii recipe on this site. (also an crawly recipe!) I'm not a murphy lover in general b/c I think they are besides starchy and bland. This recipe was delicious and super flavorful! I followed the recipe exactly with only ii changes. I substituted Savory (dried) because I did not take fresh or dried rosemary or thyme on hand. I used it generously. And since I'grand non wild about potatoes, I cut the red potatoes into bite-sized pieces, so you get less irish potato center in proportion to the crusted browned edges. Use a small metal spatula to become under the potatoes without breaking them upwardly instead of a spoon. Oh, I also added yellowish peppers to the ruby-red ones suggested. Information technology made the dish so pretty! A wonderful recipe that I will definitely make again, especially for visitor since belongings them only enhances the flavor!

Tried equally written the potatoes were good by the dish was lacking. Made them again when my daughter and her famiuly came over. Added brussel sprouts onions and parmesan. It was great even the babe (5yo) wanted more. P.S. everything is ameliorate with garlic......

I followed the recipe as written and these potatoes turned out perfectly. Crispy and nicely browned on the exterior but moist and yummy on the inside. Served this with Sage Pork Chops from this site. I wanted to take a photo but they were gone before I had the chance...

Just like the video suggested, I used fresh rosemary instead of thyme considering that's what I had. These were a swell side-dish!

OMG!!! About says it all. I left off the thyme and bong peppers ( my husband doesn't like green things ) and added some garlic. These are now our favorite potatoes. Thank you then much Chef John!!

I love this recipe. So simple. The potatoes came out just perfectly!! I served these with Craven Breasts with Mushrooms, Onions,Thyme and Borsin Foam Sauce. I didn't take a bell pepper and seeing that we were snowed in that 24-hour interval I wasn't able to become one either. At commencement I was dissapointed,but, tried the recipe anyway.....and to my surprise, I was NOT dissapointed, the came out simply every bit promised. This is a keeper,I will use this recipe over and over once more. Try information technology y'all will exist very pleased.

This is the easiest, most succulent and fool-proof fashion to brand crispy roasted potatoes. Allow plenty fourth dimension and it works beautifully. Endeavour to rush it or to add other kinds of root veggies with different water content, and it won't turn out the same! Kudos to Chef John. I love your sense of humor!

I take never had much success at potatoes in the oven but these turned out wonderfully! I didn't think a glass pan would work for a heavy pan so I ended upwards using the bottom of a broiler pan. It worked great. I will make these again and again (with or without the cerise pepper).

I would give this 10 stars if I could. I've made these potatoes twice. Once with fresh herbs, once with just common salt and pepper. Both times were GREAT! The second time I also made oven fried chicken and cooked it at the aforementioned time (separate pan) as the potatoes. Great way to get dinner done fast. Chef John never disappoints. "AS ALWAYS, ENJOY".

Flavor was not bad but the potatoes stuck to the Dutch oven despite the oil. I tried them on a baking sheet the next time and they cooked far more quickly than predictable. The third fourth dimension I was a bit gun shy and they should accept been in longer. I didn't get the bully crispy skin shown in the pics. Oh well, I am just a hack after all :-)

I roast potatoes in a frying pan that does that does take nearly equally long. I merely cut the potatoes into small chunks, then coat the pan with oil and coat the potatoes with a mix of crushed cherry peppers, salt, black pepper, and olive oil. Then I would pop the chapeau on the pan for nigh seven-ten mins on medium rut. Then I would flip them and keep doing that until I call up their done.

Absolutely groovy! I used coconut aminos in identify of soy sauce and coconut oil in identify of olive. Cut the mini ruddy potatoes up into quarters.

I cutting the red potatoes up every bit suggested, only then decided to microwave them for about 8 minutes on high, then put them in the oven. I used 400 degrees, but side by side time I'll use 450 degrees... all to shorten the cooking time. I cooked the potatoes for most 25 mins at 400, next time I'll use 450 to shorten the process even more. They turned out good.

Chef John, thank you then much for this recipe! I take fabricated them twice at present. On the second time, I used an apple cutter to cut the potatoes into 8 wedges, plus a core part. Easy, quick and of course I used the circular piece as well. Also first-class left over (If there are any!)

Very flavorful potatoes! The red bell pepper imparts a rich complexity that i wouldn't expect from a tater. Excellent! It was a large hit with my guests. I served it with Chef John's Pork Tenderloin Diablo. As always, a dash of cayenne really adds to the dish likewise.

Y hubby and I are on low sodium diets. These roasted potatoes take been a life saver. Roll in olive oil, use Mrs. Dash no sodium garlic, onion with herbs. Eliminate salt. Sprinkle with ,Smokey Paprika lightly, follow rest of recipe. They are delicious. Anyone with a depression sodium this is a great recipe. Simply leave off the common salt...Flavor COMES FROM THE HERBS.

Wish 50 knew this was so easy years agone! Great, simple recipe that offers a lot of versatility should you choose to become with different spices or add together other veggies like onions. A new staple for our family unit! Past the way I? put all my cutting veggies in a bowl the added oil, stirred, and did the same with the seasoning earlier roasting. I got a 5-lb bag of cherry potatoes delivered curbside past fault and so was looking for a practiced recipe to use them. This recipe is absolutely delicious, crisp on the outside, creamy on the within, amazing! Married woman doesn't intendance for thyme so I omitted that only otherwise followed the directions every bit written. This recipe is definitely a keeper.

Tasty and crispy. Similar others said the potatoes stuck to the foil simply were still turnable with some prying. Even adding close to a i/4 tsp of cayenne pepper it wasn't spicy so I'll add more than next time. Quick and easy.

This recipe comes out like frying in a cast iron skillet, without all the disposed. 2nd attempt I substituted new baby mini Yukons. Added white onion cut the same size every bit red pepper. Added Celtic gray sea salt, Telecherry coarse cracked pepper with citrus peel, Tuscan Sunset spice instead of cayenne. Different flavors only same crispy candy-coated consequence!

Super yummy! I made it as a side dish to our salads for dinner and my married man loved it! Just sentinel the cooking time as I my have overcooked simply a chip - they were super soft just crispy on the exterior. It will nevertheless be our get to!

i have made these 3 times now. Everyone loves them. I try to cook them a footling crispy. You can flavor almost any way to suit the rest of the dishes you are making. I used left overs for breakfast the next mean solar day.

Good just not as successful as Chef John's "Special" roasted potatoes recipe with the preboiling. I used the verbal aforementioned kind of baking dish he recommended in the video, the same estrus and oil, etc, but had tremendous sticking after the first xxx min, non a single "free" potatoes to toss!, not at all like the video. Was able to safely reposition everything at the second "toss" merely with much careful scraping. Potatoes came out well in the end, only he peppers? Fairly blah, did not caramelize at all :(

Best roasted potatoes ever. And great timing, I had fresh thyme and peppers coming out of the garden. I boiled my potatoes for about five minutes to give them a caput start. Took virtually 50 minutes in the oven. Already made it a second fourth dimension.

Texture was peachy only potatoes were lacking in flavor. I used stale rosemary instead of thyme. I will definitely make these once again, using fresh garlic and more fresh rosemary (than called for).

I loved this recipe. It was the all-time and easiest recipe for making roasted potatoes. In the oven, you can have as many potatoes in the pan as you lot want and they still all get cooked and browned equally. I used my large cast iron pan and I would gladly do it once again.

These potatoes melt in your oral cavity. Crisp on the outside and velvety goodness on the inside. The only change I made was adding some dried rosemary.

So simple, SO delicious! Thank you Chef John. Didn't accept time to let sit down in oven the terminal xv minutes but they were perfect. Used virtually 3/iv tsp pink table salt, and sprinkled with dried organic Thyme. Used a little fresh basis pepper, no Cayenne, everything else as written.
